Our Springtime Sprout.

i haven't forgotten the blog, i've just been preoccupied with a different "project."

on march 16, darin and i welcomed the arrival of our first child, an adorable little girl. (i'll be referring to her as "the sprout" in a probably futile effort to keep her name off the web for a while.) the three of us are still settling into our new roles, and for the most part she's a very agreeable baby. darin is disappointed, however, that she isn't quite ready to mow the yard.

needless to say, plants and yard have suffered a fair amount of neglect, and that will likely continue for the forseeable future. i do hope to find time to at least post the occasional update on what plants can survive this new, heightened level of neglect.

Good to hear from you. What with hurricanes and such, long silences tend to be a bit disturbing.

But you've been BUSY!
And will be for a few years, now.

Just think, before you know it, she'll be helping you 'weed' your garden!

I just noticed you were back. Congratulations on the latest addition to your family. I love that you call her sprout...that's what we called our son when he was born 27 years ago. He was born on March 17th, so there was a lot of green for St Patrick's Day. We told him he was born green like the little green sprout on the Jolly Green Giant commercials.

This article is posted way back in year 2006 and I think your baby is already 3 years old now and I am pretty sure she is helping you already on your garden.
